Privacy concerns raised as more than one million pupils are fingerprinted in schools

This is just plain scary–what ever happened to roll call?? Or most schools issue ID cards with the student’s picture and a barcode that is scanned when students go through the lunch line or use the library.  If cards are stolen or bullied from them, those are separate issues that the institution is responsible for handling.  There is no need to fingerprint students for simple identification!  And to keep their parents in the dark, too.  Disgraceful.
